How to Use NeuroView

NeuroView is a web-based platform for visualizing and collaborating on brain MRI scans. No downloads required - just open the app in your browser and start exploring. Follow these steps to get started.

Open the Web App

NeuroView is a web-based application - no download required. Simply click "Open Software" on the home page to get started.

  • Click "Open Software" from the home page
  • Works in any modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
  • No installation or setup required
  • Access from any device with an internet connection

Load Your MRI Scan

Upload a NIfTI brain scan file (.nii or .nii.gz) to visualize it in 3D.

  • Click "Load New Scan" or "Select NIfTI File"
  • Choose your .nii or .nii.gz file
  • Wait for the scan to process and render
  • View your brain scan in interactive 3D

Explore & Analyze

Use the visualization tools to examine brain structures from any angle with adjustable settings.

  • Rotate and zoom the 3D brain model
  • Adjust depth threshold and opacity
  • Toggle wireframe view for detailed structure
  • Browse axial, sagittal, and coronal slices

Add Annotations

Mark regions of interest directly on the 3D brain model with colored markers and labels.

  • Enable "Annotate Mode" in the left panel
  • Choose a marker color
  • Click on the brain to place markers
  • Add labels to identify regions of interest

Collaborate in Real-Time

Share your session with colleagues for real-time collaborative analysis - up to 4 people can edit together.

  • Click "Share Session" to create a shareable link
  • Send the link to up to 3 colleagues
  • Everyone can view, annotate, and navigate together
  • Changes sync instantly across all participants
Quick Tip

For the best experience, use a modern browser like Chrome or Firefox. The 3D viewer works best with hardware acceleration enabled. Supported file formats: NIfTI (.nii, .nii.gz).
